Sonoma Mountain Herefords is a family-owned and operated Hereford seedstock business located on Rancho Estero Americano in the rolling hillsides of Sonoma County, California. Our philosophy is to raise registered Hereford cattle with integrity that will work in the show ring but also function with soundness and efficiency in a commercial cattle environment. 

 

Through the use of new technologies in the cattle industry, we continue to move our registered program into the future. Employing ultrasound, EPD analysis, DNA testing, and AI and embryo transfer, we are continually improving our cow herd, selecting for sound udders and mothering ability. Our bulls are ranch raised, never pampered, on rugged, steep hillsides where they need to get out and move.  We feel this is the best way to raise breeding bulls that will hold up and perform for our customers.  You won't see eye-popping yearling weights on our boys but what you will see are bulls that are athletic and will get your cows bred.  Yearling, long yearling and 2-year-old bulls are sold private treaty year around as well as a selection of females.

 

We are proud that Sonoma Mountain Herefords is recognized as a Gold TPR Breeder by the American Hereford Association.  Come by for a tour of the Rancho Estero Americano, and we’ll be happy to show you our next calf crop, our cow herd and replacement females, as well as our upcoming bulls and herd sires. ​​
